Sober Living

Break the Chains. Reclaim Your Life.

At Chain Breakers Non Profit Ministry in Chico, California, we understand something most people miss: addiction isn't the real problem. It's the mask you wear to cover deeper wounds—spiritual hurts, emotional trauma, and broken connections that left you feeling alone.

We're here to tell you that healing is possible. Not just from substances, but from the pain that drove you there in the first place.

~ This is where your second chance begins ~

"More Than Sobriety—It's About Becoming Whole"

Chain Breakers is a men's fellowship built on three pillars:

Community - You can't heal in isolation. Our brotherhood of recovered addicts understands your struggle because they've lived it.

Spiritual Healing - We address the wounds addiction was trying to numb. Real recovery means finding peace with yourself and reconnecting with purpose.

Proven Structure - Based on the time-tested principles of NA and AA, our program provides the consistency and stability you need to rebuild your life.

When you combine these elements in our sober living environment, something powerful happens. Men who felt hopeless find their footing. Broken relationships begin to mend. Jobs are secured. Lives are transformed.

Our track record speaks for itself: 80% of members who commit past 30 days find employment and maintain long-term sobriety.

You Deserve a Second Chance

Maybe you've tried before and relapsed. Maybe you're terrified this won't work either. We get it. But here's what we know: with the right support, the right environment, and the right people believing in you, recovery isn't just possible—it's probable.

All you need is love, community, and someone willing to give you that second chance.

That's exactly what you'll find here.

Testimonials

Mikey

After moving to Chain Breakers, I had some time without substances yet required a place to stay with a structured program. Chain Breakers provided me with a secure environment for me to flourish, and since arrival I have obtained a job and taken part in group meetings. The strong fellowship within the residence has been vital in sustaining my path towards recovery. In comparison to other recovery residences I have experienced, this one is the most impactful.

Sidd

Sidd, had struggled with alcohol and eventually Meth for 20 years. He felt hopeless and his family was feeling there were no solutions. He heard there was a God bed available at Chain Breakers. He took the bus that day and was able to enter into recovery. He attends meetings daily.

The donor funded God Bed gave him a 30 days of stability. In that month, Sidd attended meetings daily reconnected with his spiritual foundation, and began processing the feelings that fueled his addiction. He is now 9 months sober, has reconnected with his family, and is running recovery meetings!

Tyler

Couldn't speak more highly about Chain Breakers Ministry! I've sought treatment for addiction on three different occasions, but this time around I decided to give a sober living environment a try for the first time. I feel it has been a key factor in my success at staying clean this time around. The fellowship of the guys in the house and the guys who run the house that truly care about you and your journey are priceless. This is by far the longest I've been clean since my addiction started 20 years ago and I owe all of it to God and this amazing program that he put in my life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I stay?

While our program is flexible, our success rate jumps to 80% for members who commit past 30 days. Real transformation takes time.

What if I relapse?

Relapse doesn't mean failure-it means you need more support. We approach setbacks with grace while maintaining accountability.

Do I have to be religious?

Our program includes spiritual components because we've seen how effective they are. You don't need to share our exact beliefs, but openness to spiritual growth is important.

Can I work while in the program?

Yes! We encourage employment as part of rebuilding your life. We'll support your job search and work schedule.

What are the house rules?

We maintain a sober, respectful environment with clear expectations: no drugs or alcohol, attendance at regular meetings, participation in house responsibilities, and treating fellow residents with respect. Our rules aren't about control—they're about creating the stable, safe environment that makes recovery possible.

What happens after I complete the program?

Graduation isn't goodbye, it's a transition. Many of our alumni stay connected to the Chain Breakers community, attending meetings and mentoring newer members. We help you develop an aftercare plan that includes ongoing meeting attendance, continued fellowship, and connections to resources that support your independent sober living. Recovery is a lifelong journey, and we remain part of your support network.
